HANOVER AREA COUNCIL OF CHURCHES PAL DATE: January 25 and February 22, 2025
JANUARY MISSION COLLECTIONS
During the month of January, we will be collecting items below for New Hope Ministries in New Oxford. These items are rarely available on the shelves for guests. Plenty of food selections are available, to them, but since household items do not have any expiration dates, they are seldom donated by local grocery stores. You may place these much-appreciated items into the container in the Overflow Room. Thank you! Toilet paper, Paper towels, Paper plates, Garbage bags, Dish detergent, Laundry detergent, Band Aids, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Deodorant and any Cleaning supplies.
Hanover Area Council of Churches CODE BLUE COLD WEATHER SHELTER
The Cold Weather Shelter is seeking donations of twin-size fitted sheets, twin-size pillowcases and twin-size heavy blankets or comforters for clients needing a place to stay overnight. Thank you for providing for those in need. These items may be placed in a tote in the Overflow Room.
FOR THE LOVE OF A VETERAN
Since February is the month of Valentine’s Day, signifying “Love”, we are pleased to be able to express our love to our troops by sending them items to let them know the folks back home appreciate them. We are collecting items such as snacks, personal care items, candy, gum, playing cards and crossword books, just to name a few. The full list is on the offering table. A tote is provided in the Overflow Room for your donations. We deeply appreciate the sacrifices of our Nation’s Heroes both past and present and for protecting our country and our freedoms. For the Love of a Veteran Motto is: “Fighting for Those Who Fought for Us.”

If you are cleaning out closets after the holidays, Community Aid could use your donations of clothing, shoes, electronics and toys. Typically, December and January are slower months for receipts. Please put our partnership #20003 on your bags. We will then receive monies from them for our Emergency Fund. We appreciate their partnership with us. They have also approved our Grant Request for the Summer Lunch Program for 2025 in the amount of $2500.00.

HANOVER AREA COUNCIL OF CHURCHES: “GET INVOLVED”
The Council of Churches is very busy every day of the week. They rely heavily on the work of their wonderful volunteers. Without volunteers, the Council cannot fulfill God’s mission to provide resources to our community. Stop in to see how the Council works, volunteer your time and talent whenever you are able. Even an hour of time can help tremendously!
Don’t forget to check the donations list on the offering table for all of the Council Needs! Your help is very much appreciated! Call 717-633-6353 to volunteer.
